The drops can also be used to treat infections of the middle ear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b><strong>Do not use Gentamicin:<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you\u2019re allergic to the active substances or any other component of this medicine.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you have myasthenia gravis.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">In your ear if you have or suspect you have a burst ear drum, if you are being treated for a problem with your ear.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b><strong>Warnings &amp; Precautions:<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before taking this medicine including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you have liver or kidney problems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Prolonged use of this medicine may lead to a second infection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b><strong>Possible Side Effects:<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stop using this product and seek immediate medical help if you develop rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stop using this product if you experience severe eye irritation or change in eyesight<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Side effects include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Blurred vision<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ear damage<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Local irritation<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Second infection<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kidney problems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b><strong>Other medicines and Gentamicin:<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gentamicin may interact with the following medicines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cephalosporin antibiotics<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">The antifungal Amphotericin B<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cisplatin<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ciclosprin<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Diuretics like Furosemide<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Other aminiglycosides<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b><strong>\u00a0How to take Gentamicin:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Use as indicated by your doctor.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">The drops can be used in the eyes or ears.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">The ointment is for the eyes only.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">For the eye, instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye every 4 hours (up to 6 times a day).<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">For the ear, instill 2-3 drops 3-4 times a day and at night.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Apply 1\/2 inch (1.25 cm) 2 to 3 times daily on the lower lid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b><strong>How to store Gentamicin:\u00a0<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Store at room temperature 68 to 77\u00b0F (20 to 25\u00b0C).<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Discard after 28 days of opening.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Keep this medicine out of reach of children.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
