Interferon Beta-1a 30mcg IM\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n

What Interferon Beta-1a is used for:<\/b><\/div>\n
    \n
  • Interferon beta-1a is in a class of medications called immunomodulators.<\/li>\n
  • It is used in adults with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis to<\/li>\n
  • Decrease flare-ups of symptoms (such as balance problems, numbness or weakness)<\/li>\n
  • Help to slow disease worsening.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    Do not take Interferon Beta-1a:<\/b><\/div>\n
      \n
    • If you are allergic to interferon beta, human albumin, or any of the ingredients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      Warnings & Precautions:<\/b><\/div>\n
        \n
      • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Interferon Beta-1a if you:<\/li>\n
      • Have depression or suicide signs and symptoms<\/li>\n
      • Have liver problems<\/li>\n
      • Have bleeding problems or blood clots<\/li>\n
      • Have thyroid problems<\/li>\n
      • Are at risk for seizures<\/li>\n
      • Are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        Possible Side Effects:<\/b><\/div>\n

        • Skin reaction at the site of injection (itching, swelling, color change)<\/li>\n
        • Abdominal pain<\/li>\n
        • Influenza like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, headaches).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          Other medicines and Interferon Beta-1a:<\/b><\/div>\n
            \n
          • Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements.<\/li>\n
          • Interferon Beta-1a and other medicines may affect each other causing side effects.<\/li>\n
          • Caution with medicinal products that have a narrow therapeutic index like digoxin, lithium, warfarin, and phenytoin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            How to take Interferon Beta-1a:<\/b><\/div>\n
              \n
            • Adults above 18 years of age:<\/li>\n
            • The usual dose is: 1 dose injection in the muscle once a week<\/li>\n
            • It is given by injection in the muscle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
              How To Use:<\/b><\/div>\n
                \n
              • After reconstitution, avoid shaking, check if the solution is clear to slightly yellow and without particles.<\/li>\n
              • Discard the product if it contains particulate matter or is discolored.<\/li>\n
              • Inject exactly as your healthcare provider tells you.<\/li>\n
              • Do not inject more than your healthcare provider tells you to.<\/li>\n
              • Rotate sites for intramuscular injections with each injection to minimize the likelihood of injection site reactions.<\/li>\n
              • Do not inject into an area of the body where the skin is irritated, reddened, bruised, infected or scarred in any way.<\/li>\n
              • Check the injection site after 2 hours for redness, swelling, or tenderness.<\/li>\n
              • Do not use any other needle with the autoinjector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                How to store Interferon Beta-1a:<\/b><\/div>\n
                  \n
                • Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.<\/li>\n
                • It should be stored in a 2\u00b0C to 8\u00b0C (36\u00b0F to 46\u00b0F) refrigerator.<\/li>\n
                • If refrigeration be unavailable, vials of can be stored at 25\u00b0C (77\u00b0F) for a period of up to 30 days.<\/li>\n
                • Do not expose to high temperatures. Do not freeze. Protect from light.<\/li>\n
                • Do not use beyond the expiration date stamped on the vial. Following reconstitution,<\/li>\n
                • it is recommended the product be used as soon as possible within 6 hours stored at 2\u00b0C to 8\u00b0C (36\u00b0F to 46\u00b0F).<\/li>\n
                • Do not use external heat sources such as hot water to warm in a prefilled syringe.<\/li>\n
