none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Vedolizumab belongs to a group of biological medicines called monoclonal antibodies (mabs).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>How Entyvio works:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Entyvio works by blocking a protein on the surface of white blood cells that causes inflammation in\u00a0ulcerative colitis\u00a0and\u00a0Crohn&#8217;s disease.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>This reduces inflammation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What Entyvio is used for:<\/p>\n<p>Entyvio is used to treat signs and symptoms in adults with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Moderately to severely active\u00a0ulcerative colitis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Moderately to severely active\u00a0Crohn\u2019s disease<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ULCERATIVE COLITIS:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Ulcerative colitis\u00a0is a disease that causes inflammation of the colon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you have\u00a0ulcerative colitis, you will first be given other medicines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you do not respond well enough or cannot tolerate these medicines, your doctor may give you Entyvio to reduce the signs and symptoms of your disease.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>CROHN&#8217;S DISEASE:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Crohn&#8217;s disease\u00a0is a disease that causes inflammation in the digestive system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you have\u00a0Crohn&#8217;s disease, you will first be given other medicines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you do not respond well enough or cannot tolerate these medicines, your doctor may give you Entyvio to reduce the signs and symptoms of your disease.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How To Use:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.<\/li>\n<li>Contact a doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.<\/li>\n<li>You or your caregiver will be trained on how to inject Entyvio under the skin (\u00a0subcutaneously\u00a0).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How much Entyvio you should get<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Treatment with Entyvio is similar for\u00a0ulcerative colitis\u00a0and\u00a0Crohn&#8217;s disease.<\/p>\n<p>The recommended dose is 108 mg of Entyvio administered by\u00a0subcutaneous\u00a0injection every two weeks.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>At the beginning of the treatment, the doctor will give you the first doses of Entyvio via a drip into a vein in your arm (\u00a0intravenous\u00a0infusion) lasting approximately 30 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>After at least 2\u00a0intravenous\u00a0infusions, you can start receiving Entyvio as a\u00a0subcutaneous\u00a0injection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>The first subcutaneous injection is given at the time of the next scheduled\u00a0intravenous\u00a0infusion and every two weeks thereafter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Injecting Entyvio:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>The first injections can be given by yourself or a carer after you have received training on how to do it.\u00a0There are instructions at the end of the package insert.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have forgotten to insert or miss an injection with Entyvio:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you forget or miss a dose, the next dose should be injected as soon as possible and then every two weeks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you stop treatment with Entyvio:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>You should not stop treatment with Entyvio without talking to your doctor first.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Ask your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse if you have any questions about
