What is Pazopanib and what is used for :<\/b><\/p>\n
Pazopanib is a is a medication that belongs to a class of medications known as\u201d kinase inhibitors\u201d. It is used to treat patients with the following indications:<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0Advanced renal cell carcinoma (advanced stage of kidney cancer).<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0Advanced soft tissue sarcoma (advanced type of cancer that occurs in your soft tissue) in patients who have previously received chemotherapy.<\/p>\n
Do not take Pazopanib :<\/b><\/p>\n
If you are allergic to Pazopanib or any of the ingredients in this medicine. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had.<\/p>\n
Other medicines and Pazopanib :<\/b><\/p>\n
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medications including over the counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins and supplements.<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0If you are taking simvastatin (used to treat blood cholesterol).<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0If you are taking ketoconazole (used to treat fungal infections).<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0If you are taking medications used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, like, ritonavir.<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0If you drink grapefruit juice.<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0If you are taking certain antibiotics (used to treat bacterial infections).<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0If you are taking medicines used to treat irregular heartbeats.<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0If you are taking certain antidepressants (used to treat depression).<\/p>\n
How to take Pazopanib :<\/b><\/p>\n
Recommended dose is 800 mg orally once daily. Your doctor may recommend a reduction in your dose if you have liver problems: 200 mg orally once daily.\u00a0 This medication is not recommended if you have severe liver damage.<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0Take tablet without food (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal).<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0Take tablet with a full glass of water.<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0Do not crush the tablet.<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0Grapefruit may increase the concentration of this medication in your body. Make sure not to eat or drink any grapefruit product while taking this medication.<\/p>\n
