none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Exemestane belongs to a group of medicines known as aromatase inhibitors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Aromatase Inhibitors interfere with a substance called aromatase, which is needed to produce the female sex hormones, called oestrogens, especially in postmenopausal women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Reduction in estrogen levels in the body is a way of treating hormone dependent breast cancer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Exemestane is used:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>To treat hormone dependent early breast cancer in postmenopausal women after they have completed 2-3 years of treatment with the medicine tamoxifen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>To treat hormone dependent advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women when a different hormonal drug treatment has not worked well enough.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you need to know before you use\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Exemestane:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Do not use Exemestane:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tell your doctor if you:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to exemestane or any of the other ingredients of this medicine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you have not already been through &#8216;the menopause&#8217;, i.e. you are still having your monthly period,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you are pregnant, or are likely to be pregnant<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you are breast-feeding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Warnings and precautions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You should let your doctor know:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you have problems with your liver or kidneys.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you have a history or are suffering from any condition which affects the strength of your bones(e.g. Osteoprosis).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other medicines and Exemestane:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Exemestane should not be given at the same time as estrogen-containing medicines, for example hormone replacement therapy (HRT).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>The following medicines should be used cautiously when taking Exemestane:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Rifampicin (an antibiotic),<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Carbamazepine or phenytoin (medicines used to treat epilepsy),<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>The herbal remedy St Johns Wort (Hypericum perforatum), or preparations containing it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to use\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Exemestane:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Dosage:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Adults and the elderly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>The recommended dose is one tablet daily after a meal, at approximately the same time each day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Use in children and adolescents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Exemestane is not suitable for children and adolescents under the age of 18.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method of administration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>You should take Exemestane tablets by mouth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Do not chew the tablets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>You can swallow the tablets with some liquid (e.g.a glass of water, 200ml).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Your doctor will tell you how long you should take Exemestane tablets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Possible side effects<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>You have signs of a decreased number of white blood cells called leucocytes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Symptoms can include frequent infections, fatigue, sleepiness, fever and headache.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>You have signs of a decreased number of blood cells called platelets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Symptoms can include brusing easily, prolonged bleeding from cuts, bleeding gums, nose bleeds, fatigue and yellowing of the skin and\/or whites of the eyes (jaundice).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Your bones seem weaker and\/or have been easily fracturered as this may indicate that your bones have thinned and weakend (osteoporosis).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to store\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Exemestane:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Store below 30\u00b0C in a dry place.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Store in the original container in order to protect from
