What Brinzolamide is used for:<\/b><\/p>\n
It reduces pressure within the eye.\u00a0 These eye drops are used to treat high pressure in the eye. This pressure can lead to an illness called glaucoma.<\/p>\n
Do not use Brinzolamide:<\/b><\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0if you have severe kidney problems
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0if you are allergic to brinzolamide or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0if you are allergic to medicines called sulphonamides. Examples include medicines used to treat diabetes and infections and also diuretics (water tablets). It may cause the same allergy
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0if you have too much acidity in your blood (a condition called hyperchloraemic acidosis)
\n.<\/p>\n
Warnings and Precautions:<\/b><\/p>\n
You should tell your doctor if you have any of the following:
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0if you have kidney or liver problems.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0if you have dry eyes or cornea problems.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0if you are taking other sulphonamide medicines
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0if you have a specific form of glaucoma in which the pressure inside the eye rises due to deposits that block fluid draining out (pseudoexfoliative glaucoma or pigmentary glaucoma) or a specific form of glaucoma in which the pressure inside the eye (sometimes rapidly) rises because the eye bulges forward and blocks fluid draining out (narrow-angle glaucoma)<\/p>\n
Possible Side Effects:<\/b>
\nLike all medicines, Brinzolamide can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop throat tightness or swelling of the eyes, face, lips or tongue, feel faint, or have difficulty breathing. Stop using the product if you develop hives or itching of the face or body.<\/p>\n
Other medicines and Brinzolamide:<\/b>
\nTell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
\nIf you are taking another carbonic anhydrase inhibitor (acetazolamide or dorzolamide, see section 1 What Brinzolamide is and what it is used for), talk to your doctor.<\/p>\n
How to use Brinzolamide:<\/b>
\n1 drop in the affected eye or eyes twice a day \u2013 morning and night.
\nUse this much unless your doctor told you to do something different. Only use Brinzolamide in both eyes if your doctor told you to. Take it for as long as your doctor told you to<\/p>\n
How to store Brinzolamide:<\/b>
\nKeep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
\nDo not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and label after \u2018EXP\u2019. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
\nDo not store above 25 C.
\nDiscard within 28 days of opening.
\nDo not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.<\/p>\n
