What Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine is used for:

• • The combination Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine is used to treat bacterial infections of the external ear (otitis externa).

• • Do not take Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine.

• • If you’re allergic to the active substance or any other component of this medicine.

• • If you have a burst in your ear drum.

Warnings & Precautions:

• • Tell your doctor if you or your family have blood disorders (e.g. anemia) or bone marrow problems.

• • Do not use this medicine longer than you have been told. A second infection may happen.

Possible Side Effects:

Stop using this product and seek immediate medical help if you:

• • Develop rash; hives; blisters; itching; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble Breathing, swallowing, or talking;

• • Or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Common side effects:

• • Temporary itching, burning or mild irritation of the ear.

• • Other medicines and Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine

• • Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

• • Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine and other ear drops may interfere with each other. Consult with your doctor if you use other ear drops.

How to take Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine:

• • This medicine is intended for adults, adolescents, and children aged 3 years and older.

• • This product is for external use only.

• • Use as indicated by your doctor.

• • The usual dosing is 4 drops into affected ear 4 times daily.

How to store Chloramphenicol/Benzocaine:

• • Unopened bottles should be stored in a refrigerator 35°F to 46°F (2 to 8°C). Do not freeze.

• • Once opened, it should be stored at room temperature 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C).

• • This medicine should be protected from light.

• • Keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• • Once the pack has been opened, the contents should be used within 1 month.

• • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
