Medication name: Risperidone 1 mg/mL Oral Solution

Use: Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic used to manage various psychiatric and behavioral conditions. It helps restore the balance of certain natural substances in the brain, improving mood, thinking, and behavior.

Indications:

• Schizophrenia, a condition causing distorted thinking and hallucinations.

• Mania, characterized by excitement, hyperactivity, or agitation in bipolar disorder.

• Short-term treatment of aggression in patients with Alzheimer’s dementia.

• Short-term management (up to 6 weeks) of aggression in children aged 5 years and older and adolescents with conduct disorder or intellectual disability.

Do not take Risperidone if:

• You are allergic to Risperidone or any of its ingredients. Always check with your doctor or pharmacist before use.

Possible side effects:

• Common effects: sleep problems, drowsiness, reduced alertness, headache, cold or flu-like symptoms, cough, sore throat, sinus infection, chest infection (bronchitis), urinary tract infection.

• Hormonal and metabolic effects: increased prolactin levels, weight gain, or changes in appetite.

• Neurological effects: dizziness, tremor, parkinsonism, restlessness, dystonia, or abnormal movements.

• Digestive effects: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, or dry mouth.

• Cardiovascular and respiratory effects: rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, shortness of breath, nosebleeds.

• Musculoskeletal effects: muscle stiffness, spasms, joint or back pain.

• Other effects: rash, fatigue, fever, swelling of limbs, or general weakness.

• Keep out of the reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
