Maxigesic 16 Tabs Paracetamol 500Mg+Ibuprofen 150Mg

Medication name: Maxigesic Tablets (16 tablets) contain a combination of Paracetamol 500 mg and Ibuprofen 150 mg.

It is designed to provide stronger and longer-lasting pain relief than either ingredient alone.

Drug class: Analgesic / Antipyretic / Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug (NSAID) combination

Use: Maxigesic is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever associated with:

• Headache and migraine

• Dental pain

• Muscle aches and back pain

• Period pain (dysmenorrhea)

• Cold and flu symptoms

• Arthritis and joint pain

How it works:

• Paracetamol works by blocking pain signals in the brain and reducing fever.

• Ibuprofen reduces inflammation, pain, and swelling by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis (COX enzymes).
  Together, they offer synergistic pain relief with fewer doses compared to single-drug therapy.

Dosage and administration:

• Adults and children over 12 years: Take 1–2 tablets every 6 hours as needed.

• Maximum: 8 tablets in 24 hours.

• Swallow whole with water, preferably after food.

• Do not use for more than 3 days for fever or 5 days for pain without medical advice.

Side effects: Common side effects may include nausea, stomach discomfort, heartburn, or dizziness.

Rarely, allergic reactions or liver/kidney problems may occur with prolonged use or overdose.

Precautions:

• Do not use if allergic to paracetamol, ibuprofen, or other NSAIDs.

• Avoid if you have stomach ulcers, heart disease, severe kidney/liver disease, or asthma triggered by NSAIDs.

• Avoid taking with other paracetamol or ibuprofen-containing medications.
