Medication name: Nurofen Suspension Strawberry Flavour 150 ml
Drug class: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) contains ibuprofen
Use: This medication is used in children to relieve mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, sore throat, earache, or pain from teething.
It is also used to reduce fever associated with colds, flu, or immunization reactions.

How it works: The active ingredient, ibuprofen, works by reducing the production of prostaglandins natural chemicals in the body that cause pain, inflammation, and fever.
By blocking these chemicals, ibuprofen helps lower fever and relieve pain and swelling effectively.

Dosage and administration: Shake the bottle well before each use. Each 5 ml contains 100 mg of ibuprofen. The dose depends on the child’s age and weight.
For example, children aged 3–6 months (over 5 kg) may take 2.5 ml every 6–8 hours as needed, up to 3 times in 24 hours.
Children aged 1–3 years may take 5 ml every 6–8 hours, and children aged 4–6 years may take 7.5 ml every 6–8 hours.
Do not exceed 4 doses in any 24-hour period, and leave at least 6 hours between doses.
Always use the provided measuring syringe or spoon, and preferably give it with or after food to reduce stomach irritation.

Side effects: Most children tolerate ibuprofen well.
Mild side effects may include stomach discomfort, nausea, or heartburn.
Rare but serious reactions include rash, allergic swelling, wheezing, or blood in vomit or stool.
Stop treatment and seek medical advice if any severe reaction occurs.

Precautions: Do not use if the child is allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin, or any other NSAIDs.
Avoid use in children with a history of stomach ulcers, severe liver, heart, or kidney disease, dehydration, or asthma triggered by painkillers.
Consult a doctor before use in infants under 3 months or under 5 kg.
Do not combine with other ibuprofen- or aspirin-containing medications.

Storage: Store below 25 °C, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep tightly closed and out of the reach of children.
Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.
