Use:
This medication is used to relieve the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux such as heartburn, acid regurgitation, and indigestion.
It provides soothing relief in conditions where stomach acid flows back into the food pipe, including after meals or during pregnancy.

How it works:
Gaviscon Advance contains sodium alginate and potassium bicarbonate.
When taken orally, it reacts with stomach acid to form a thick, protective layer (or raft) that floats on top of the stomach contents.
This barrier prevents acid from flowing back into the esophagus, reducing irritation and the burning sensation associated with reflux.
The bicarbonate component also neutralizes excess acid, offering additional comfort.

Dosage and administration:
Shake the bottle well before use.
The usual adult dose is 5–10 ml after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a doctor.
It should be taken orally and not mixed with water.
For children aged 12 years and older, the same dosing may be used under medical supervision.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Side effects:
Gaviscon Advance is generally safe and well tolerated.
Occasionally, mild side effects such as bloating, nausea, or constipation may occur.
Allergic reactions are rare but can include skin rash, itching, or swelling.
Stop use and seek medical help if any severe reaction occurs.

Precautions:
