Use:
This medication is used to treat occasional constipation in adults and children.
It helps stimulate bowel movements and relieve difficulty in passing stools by increasing intestinal activity.
It may also be prescribed before certain medical procedures that require bowel emptying.

How it works:
The active ingredient, sodium picosulfate, is a stimulant laxative that acts on the nerve endings in the intestinal wall.
It promotes gentle muscle contractions (peristalsis), which help move stool through the colon more effectively.
Unlike osmotic laxatives, sodium picosulfate acts only after being broken down by intestinal bacteria, making it mild yet effective.

Dosage and administration:
Shake the bottle well before use.
The dose should be taken once daily, preferably at bedtime, so that a bowel movement occurs the next morning.
Typical doses are:

Adults and children over 10 years: 5–10 drops (2.5–5 mg) once daily.

Children aged 4–10 years: 2–5 drops (1–2.5 mg) once daily.
Always use the dropper provided and adjust the dose based on your doctor’s advice or the child’s response.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Side effects:
Pico is generally well tolerated.
Mild side effects may include abdominal cramps, diarrhea, or nausea.
Excessive use may lead to dehydration or electrolyte imbalance.
Stop use and consult a doctor if severe pain, vomiting, or persistent diarrhea occurs.

Precautions:
Do not use if allergic to sodium picosulfate or any of the ingredients.
