Arcoxia 90 mg 28 Tablets

Medication name: Arcoxia 90 mg Tablets contain the active ingredient Etoricoxib, which belongs to the class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) known as COX-2 inhibitors.

Each pack includes 28 film-coated tablets for oral use.

Use: Arcoxia is used to relieve pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and gouty arthritis.

It may also be prescribed for the short-term treatment of acute pain and postoperative dental pain.

How it works: Etoricoxib selectively inhibits the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, which is responsible for producing prostaglandins that cause pain and inflammation.

By blocking COX-2, Arcoxia provides effective pain relief while minimizing stomach irritation compared to traditional NSAIDs.

Dosage and administration: The usual dose is 90 mg once daily, taken with or without food, as directed by a doctor.

The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest possible duration. The tablet should be swallowed whole with water.

Side effects: Common side effects include headache, dizziness, heartburn, nausea, indigestion, swelling of legs or ankles (edema), and increased blood pressure.

Rarely, it may cause allergic reactions, liver function changes, or gastrointestinal discomfort.

Precautions: Arcoxia should be used with caution in patients with heart disease, high blood pressure, liver or kidney impairment, or a history of ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding.

It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Avoid using other NSAIDs or alcohol while taking Arcoxia.

Storage: Store at room temperature (below 25 °C), in a dry place, protected from light and moisture, and out of the reach of children.
