Travoprost 40 micrograms/mL/ Timolol 5 mg/mL Eye drops solution
What Travoprost/ Timolol is used for:
- This product is used for adults (including elderly) with elevated eye pressure which may lead to glaucoma.
Do not use Travoprost/ Timolol:
- If you are allergic to Travoprost, other prostaglandin analogs, Timolol, other beta-blockers or any of the ingredients in this medicine.
- Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had.
- If you currently have or have previously had respiratory problems like asthma or severe chronic obstructive bronchitis (severe lung disease which may cause difficulty breathing and wheezing).
- If you have heart problems like heart failure (inability of your heart muscle to pump properly), low heart rate, or irregular heart rhythm.
- If you suffer from severe hay fever (allergic rhinitis).
- If the surface of your eye is cloudy.
Possible side effects:
- Very common side effects include redness of the eye.
- Common side effects include eye surface inflammation with surface damage, eye pain, blurred vision, eye discomfort, dry eye, abnormal vision, eye irritation (stinging or burning) and eye itching.
- Uncommon side effects include eye surface inflammation, increased tear production, light sensitivity, swelling of the conjunctiva, eye inflammation, iris inflammation, eyelids inflammation, difficulty breathing, eyelid color change, tired eyes, eyelid redness, growth of eyelashes, eye allergy, eye swelling, decreased vision, skin darkening around the eye, dizziness, skin inflammation and itching, decreased heart rate, increased or decreased blood pressure, headache, drip at back of throat, excessive hair growth and increased allergic signs.
Other medicines and Travoprost/ Timolol:
- Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medications including eye drops. If you are using more than one eye drop solution, make sure to administer each at least five minutes apart to avoid precipitation of the eye drop.
- If you are taking medicines to lower blood pressure.
- If you are taking medicines used to treat some heart problems including quinidine (used to treat some heart problems and some types of malaria).
- If you are taking medicines used to treat diabetes (high blood glucose levels).
- If you are taking fluoxetine or paroxetine (used to treat depression).
How to apply Travoprost/ Timolol:
Adults
- Recommended dose is one drop in the affected eye (s) once daily (in the evening or in the morning).
- Use your eye drops solution as directed by your doctor.
- Do not apply your eye drops in both eyes unless prescribed by your doctor.
Children and adolescents (under 18 years of age)
- Use of this medicine is not recommended in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
How to store Travoprost/ Timolol:
- Discard the bottle 4 weeks after its opening even if it is not empty and use a new bottle. Write down the date at which you opened the bottle (for the first time) on the available space of the carton box.
- Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
- Do not store the eye drop solution above 30 °C.
- Do not use beyond the expiry date mentioned on the box.
- Keep away from light.
- Do not dispose in the wastewater or household waste.
- Ask your pharmacist how you can dispose medicines you no longer need.
