Fucicort Cream 30 gm

Medication name: Fucicort Cream contains Fusidic acid (2%) and Betamethasone valerate (0.1%), combining a topical antibiotic with a corticosteroid.

Each tube contains 30 grams of cream for external use only.

Drug class: Topical antibiotic + corticosteroid combination

Use: Fucicort is used to treat inflammatory skin conditions complicated by bacterial infections, such as infected eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, impetigo, and allergic skin reactions.

It helps relieve redness, itching, and swelling while eliminating the underlying bacterial infection.

How it works:

• Fusidic acid is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, effectively killing infection-causing bacteria, particularly Staphylococcus aureus.

• Betamethasone valerate is a potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, itching, and redness by suppressing the immune response in the affected area.

Dosage and administration: Apply a thin layer of Fucicort Cream to the affected area two to three times daily, or as directed by a doctor.

Gently rub until absorbed. Wash hands before and after application. Avoid prolonged use, especially on large areas or under dressings.

Side effects: Common side effects include mild burning, itching, dryness, or irritation at the site of application.

Prolonged use may cause skin thinning, stretch marks, or lightening of skin color.

Precautions:

• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or open wounds.

• Do not use on face, groin, or underarms unless prescribed.
