Use:
This medication is used to control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
It helps improve glucose regulation when diet, exercise, and single-drug therapy are insufficient.
Janumet combines two complementary ingredients — sitagliptin and metformin — to enhance insulin function, reduce glucose production, and improve the body’s natural response to meals.

How it works:

Sitagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases levels of incretin hormones.
These hormones boost insulin secretion after meals and reduce glucagon release, helping to lower blood sugar naturally.

Metformin is a biguanide that decreases glucose production in the liver, reduces intestinal sugar absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity.
Together, they provide dual action — sitagliptin regulates insulin response, and metformin controls glucose output — resulting in balanced and sustained glycemic control.

Dosage and administration:
The usual adult dose is one tablet twice daily, taken with morning and evening meals to reduce stomach upset.
Swallow each tablet whole with water — do not crush or chew.

Continue taking Janumet regularly, along with diet and exercise, for best results.

Side effects:
