Methotrexate SPC 2.5 mg -100 Tablets

• • Methotrexate interferes with the growth of certain cells of the body, especially cells that reproduce quickly, such as cancer cells, bone marrow cells, and skin cells. Methotrexate is used to treat leukemia and certain types of cancer of the breast, skin, head and neck, lung, or uterus.

• • Methotrexate tablets are indicated for the: treatment of adults and pediatric patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) as part of a combination chemotherapy maintenance regimen.

Dosage:

• • Methotrexate Dosage Applies to the following strengths: 2.5 mg; 25 mg / mL; 25 mg / mL preservative-free; 1 g; 20 mg; 50 mg; 5 mg; 7.5 mg; 10 mg; 15 mg; 2.5 mg / mL; 10 mg / 0.4 mL; 12.5 mg / 0.4 mL; 15 mg / 0.4 mL; 17.5 mg / 0.4 mL; 20 mg / 0.4 mL; 22.5 mg / 0.4 mL; 25 mg / 0.4 mL; 7.5 mg / 0.4 mL; 7.5 mg / 0.15 mL.

Side Effects:

• • Black, tarry stools

• • Bleeding gums

• • Blood in the urine or stools

• • Bloody vomit

• • Diarrhea

• • Increased heartbeat

• • Itching, rash, reddening of the skin

• • Joint pain

• • Nausea

Precautions:

• • If you can, avoid people with infections. Check with your doctor immediately if you think you are getting an infection or if you get a fever or chills, cough or hoarseness, lower back or side pain, or painful or difficult urination.

• • Check with your doctor immediately if you notice any unusual bleeding or bruising, black, tarry stools, blood in the urine or stools, or pinpoint red spots on your skin.

• • Be careful when using a regular toothbrush, dental floss, or toothpick. Your medical doctor, dentist, or nurse may recommend other ways to clean your teeth and gums. Check with your medical doctor before having any dental work done.

• • Do not touch your eyes or the inside of your nose unless you have just washed your hands and have not touched anything else in the meantime.

• • Be careful not to cut yourself when you are using sharp objects such as a safety razor or fingernail or toenail cutters.

• Avoid contact sports or other situations where bruising or injury could occur.
