Form: Single intra-articular injection (one syringe)
Used for: Relief of pain and stiffness in the knee joint due to osteoarthritis, particularly in patients who have not responded adequately to non-pharmacologic therapy and simple analgesics. 
Mechanism: Sodium hyaluronate is a key component of synovial fluid; when injected into the joint, it supplements and restores joint lubrication and cushioning, reducing friction and improving mobility. 
Administration: Administered by a qualified healthcare professional via intra-articular injection into the knee under sterile conditions. Typical use is a single injection.
Side effects: Common effects include pain or swelling at the injection site, joint stiffness, and joint pain. Rarely, joint infection or allergic reactions may occur.
Precautions: Not recommended if there is active infection in or around the injection site or joint, or in patients with known bleeding disorders.
