Pazopanib 400 mg Tablets

What is Pazopanib and what is used for :

Pazopanib is a is a medication that belongs to a class of medications known as” kinase inhibitors”. It is used to treat patients with the following indications:

• Advanced renal cell carcinoma (advanced stage of kidney cancer).

• Advanced soft tissue sarcoma (advanced type of cancer that occurs in your soft tissue) in patients who have previously received chemotherapy.

Do not take Pazopanib :

If you are allergic to Pazopanib or any of the ingredients in this medicine. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had.

Other medicines and Pazopanib :

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medications including over the counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins and supplements.

• If you are taking simvastatin (used to treat blood cholesterol).

• If you are taking ketoconazole (used to treat fungal infections).

• If you are taking medications used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, like, ritonavir.

• If you drink grapefruit juice.

• If you are taking certain antibiotics (used to treat bacterial infections).

• If you are taking medicines used to treat irregular heartbeats.

• If you are taking certain antidepressants (used to treat depression).

How to take Pazopanib :

Recommended dose is 800 mg orally once daily. Your doctor may recommend a reduction in your dose if you have liver problems: 200 mg orally once daily.  This medication is not recommended if you have severe liver damage.

• Take tablet without food (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal).

• Take tablet with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush the tablet.

• Grapefruit may increase the concentration of this medication in your body. Make sure not to eat or drink any grapefruit product while taking this medication.

• Your doctor will determine the specific dose that you need to take and may change the dose depending on your response. Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

How to store Pazopanib :

• Keep out of the reach of children and pets

• Store medication at 20 to 25°C

• Do not use beyond the expiry date mentioned on the box

• Keep medication in its original pack to protect it from moisture and light

• Do not use damaged pills

• Do not dispose medication in the wastewater or household waste
