Medication name: Xefo 8 mg Tablets contain the active ingredient Lornoxicam, which belongs to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) class. Each pack includes 20 tablets intended for oral use.

Use: Xefo is prescribed for the relief of pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute musculoskeletal pain, back pain, dental pain, and postoperative pain.

It provides effective short-term and long-term pain management.

How it works: Lornoxicam works by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, which are responsible for producing prostaglandins chemicals that cause pain, swelling, and inflammation.

By blocking these enzymes, Xefo reduces pain and stiffness while improving mobility.

Dosage and administration: The usual dose is 8 to 16 mg daily, divided into one or two doses, depending on the severity of symptoms.

Tablets should be swallowed whole with water, preferably before meals to minimize stomach irritation.

Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully and use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration needed.

Side effects: Common side effects include nausea, indigestion, abdominal pain, dizziness, headache, and heartburn.

Less commonly, it may cause fluid retention, rash, or elevated liver enzymes.
