Vectibix is ​​used in the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer (bowel cancer) in adult patients with a type of tumors known as wild-type RAS tumors . Vectibix is ​​used alone or in combination with other anticancer treatments.

• Vectibix contains the active substance panitumumab, which belongs to a group of medicines called monoclonal antibodies. Monoclonal antibodies are proteins that specifically recognize and bind to other proteins in the body.

How to use:

• As a first-time treatment given with chemotherapy called FOLFOX (folinic acid, fluorouracil, oxaliplatin)
• Alone, following disease progression with the following chemotherapies: fluoropyrimidine-, oxaliplatin-, and irinotecan-containing chemotherapy

Side Effects:

• Skin reactions
• Patients who have metastatic colorectal cancer with RAS-mutant tumors should not receive Vectibix®.
• low levels of certain electrolytes
