Motilium 10 mg 30 Tablets

Medication name:
Motilium 10 mg Tablets contain Domperidone (10 mg), a dopamine antagonist with antiemetic and prokinetic properties.
Each box contains 30 film-coated tablets for oral use only.

Use:
Motilium is used to relieve nausea and vomiting, improve stomach motility, and reduce feelings of bloating, discomfort, or fullness caused by delayed gastric emptying.
It may also be prescribed to alleviate symptoms of indigestion and support normal digestion by promoting the movement of food through the digestive tract.

How it works:
Domperidone works by blocking dopamine (D₂) receptors in the brain and gastrointestinal tract.
This prevents nausea and vomiting signals from reaching the vomiting center in the brain and stimulates the muscles of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more efficiently through the digestive system.

Dosage and administration:
The usual adult dose is 10 mg (one tablet) taken three times daily, 15–30 minutes before meals.
Do not exceed 30 mg per day unless directed by your doctor.
Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew.
If a dose is missed, take it when remembered, but skip it if it is close to the next dose.

Side effects:
Common side effects may include dry mouth, headache, dizziness, abdominal cramps, or mild diarrhea.
Less common effects include breast tenderness, increased milk secretion (due to elevated prolactin levels), or irregular menstrual periods.
Rarely, heart rhythm disturbances (QT prolongation) may occur.
Seek medical attention if you experience palpitations, fainting, or severe dizziness.

Precautions:
For oral use only.
Do not use if you have gastrointestinal bleeding, obstruction, perforation, or severe liver impairment.
Avoid if you have a history of heart rhythm disorders or are taking medications that prolong the QT interval.
Consult your doctor before using Motilium if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Inform your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking.
