Use:
This medication is used to treat acid-related disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and gastritis.
It helps relieve heartburn, acid reflux, and indigestion while supporting healing of the stomach and esophagus lining.

How it works:
The active ingredient, pantoprazole, works by inhibiting the proton pump enzyme in the stomach lining that produces gastric acid.
By blocking this enzyme, it significantly decreases acid secretion, preventing irritation and allowing inflamed tissues or ulcers to heal.

Dosage and administration:
The usual adult dose is one tablet (20 mg) once daily, taken before a meal, preferably in the morning.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water — do not crush or chew.
Treatment usually lasts 2 to 4 weeks for reflux symptoms and up to 8 weeks for ulcers, depending on your doctor’s advice.
Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully and do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Side effects:
Pantomax is generally well tolerated.
Common side effects include headache, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, or gas.
Rare but serious side effects can include allergic reactions, persistent diarrhea, or signs of low magnesium levels such as muscle cramps or irregular heartbeat.
Seek medical help if any severe or unusual symptoms occur.

Precautions:
Do not use if allergic to pantoprazole or other proton pump inhibitors.
Consult your doctor before use if you have liver problems, osteoporosis, or low magnesium levels.
Long-term use may increase the risk of bone fractures or vitamin B12 deficiency.
Avoid taking this medication with drugs such as clopidogrel or atazanavir unless advised by your doctor.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only under medical supervision.
