Use:
This medication is used to treat stomach and intestinal conditions caused by excess acid production such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and gastritis.
It relieves symptoms like heartburn, acid reflux, and indigestion while promoting healing of the stomach and esophageal lining.

How it works:
The active ingredient, pantoprazole, works by blocking the enzyme in the stomach wall known as the proton pump.
This enzyme is responsible for the final step in the production of gastric acid.
By inhibiting it, pantoprazole significantly reduces acid secretion, providing long-lasting relief from acid-related discomfort and supporting tissue healing.

Dosage and administration:
The usual adult dose is one tablet (20 mg) once daily, taken before a meal—preferably in the morning.
Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew it.
Treatment duration varies depending on the condition—typically 2 to 4 weeks for heartburn and up to 8 weeks for ulcer healing.
Always follow your doctor’s instructions and do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Side effects:
Pantomax is generally well tolerated.
Common side effects may include headache, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, or flatulence.
Rare but serious side effects can include allergic reactions, persistent diarrhea, muscle weakness, or signs of low magnesium.
