Use:
This medication is used to relieve abdominal pain, cramps, and spasms caused by conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), stomach or intestinal cramps, and menstrual pain.
It helps relax the smooth muscles of the digestive and urinary tracts, easing discomfort and reducing spasms.

How it works:
The active ingredient, hyoscine butylbromide, works by blocking the action of acetylcholine on the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems.
This prevents muscle contractions that cause cramping and pain, allowing the muscles to relax and relieve discomfort.

Dosage and administration:
The usual adult dose is one to two tablets (10–20 mg) taken three to five times daily, depending on the severity of symptoms.
Swallow the tablets whole with water and do not crush or chew them.
For children aged 6–12 years, one tablet may be taken up to three times daily as directed by a doctor.
Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions and do not exceed the recommended dose.

Side effects:
Buscopan is generally well tolerated.
Possible mild side effects include dry mouth, constipation, dizziness, or blurred vision.
