• Contains the active substance lurasidone and belongs to a group of medicines called antipsychotics.
• It is used to treat symptoms of schizophrenia in adults aged 18 years or over

How to use:

• By mouth. It is usually taken with a meal once a day.
• Take lurasidone at around the same time every day.
• Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully

Caution & Warnings:

• Suicidal thoughts or behavior – monitor closely, especially at treatment start

• Drowsiness & dizziness – avoid driving or operating machinery

• Metabolic changes – possible weight gain, high blood sugar, high cholesterol

• Heart risks – QT prolongation, arrhythmias (use caution with heart disease)

• Low blood pressure – especially when standing (orthostatic hypotension)

• Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (NMS) – rare, life-threatening (fever, rigidity, confusion)

• Tardive dyskinesia – involuntary facial/body movements with long-term use

• Elevated prolactin – menstrual changes, breast enlargement, milk production

• Interaction risk – avoid strong CYP3A4 inhibitors/inducers (e.g., ketoconazole, rifampin)

• Not for elderly dementia patients – increased risk of death

• Pregnancy/Breastfeeding – use only if clearly needed under medical supervision
