Medication name: Divinus Dapagliflozin 5 mg Tablets × 30
Drug class: Sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor / Oral antidiabetic agent

Use:
This medication is used to control blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
It helps the body remove excess sugar through urine, improving overall blood sugar control.
Divinus may also be prescribed to reduce the risk of heart failure and protect kidney function in patients with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular or renal disease.

How it works:
The active ingredient, dapagliflozin, works by blocking the SGLT2 (sodium-glucose co-transporter 2) proteins in the kidneys.
These proteins are responsible for reabsorbing glucose back into the bloodstream.
By inhibiting them, dapagliflozin allows excess glucose to be excreted through urine, lowering blood sugar levels naturally and independently of insulin action.
This mechanism also helps reduce body weight and blood pressure in some patients.

Dosage and administration:
The usual adult dose is 5 mg once daily, taken in the morning, with or without food.
Your doctor may increase the dose to 10 mg once daily if additional blood sugar control is needed.
Swallow the tablet whole with water — do not crush or chew.
Continue taking it regularly at the same time each day for consistent results.
Maintain proper hydration during treatment, especially in hot weather or when exercising.

Side effects:
Divinus is generally well tolerated.
Common mild side effects include increased urination, thirst, or mild urinary tract or genital infections.
Occasionally, dizziness or dehydration may occur due to fluid loss.
Rare but serious side effects include ketoacidosis (unusual tiredness, nausea, vomiting, or shortness of breath) — seek medical attention immediately if these occur.

Precautions:
Do not use if allergic to dapagliflozin or any of the ingredients.
Avoid use in patients with severe kidney disease, low blood pressure, or dehydration.
Consult your doctor before use if you have liver problems, urinary tract infections, or are taking diuretics.
Not intended for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only under medical supervision.

Storage:
Store below 25 °C, in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight.
Keep tablets in their original packaging until use.
Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date printed on the box.
