Medication name: Erecta 100 mg Tablets (4 pcs) contain Sildenafil citrate, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men.

Drug class: PDE5 inhibitor / Erectile dysfunction medication

Use: Erecta is indicated for men with erectile dysfunction, a condition characterized by the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance.

How it works:
Sildenafil enhances the natural response to sexual stimulation by inhibiting the PDE5 enzyme, increasing the levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in penile tissue. This causes relaxation of smooth muscles and increased blood flow to the penis, allowing an erection during arousal.

Dosage and administration:

• Usual dose: 100 mg taken approximately 1 hour before sexual activity.

• May be taken 30 minutes to 4 hours before intercourse.

• Swallow whole with water; can be taken with or without food (heavy meals may delay the effect).

• Do not exceed one tablet in 24 hours.

Side effects: Common: Headache, facial flushing, dizziness, indigestion, nasal congestion, and visual disturbances.
Serious (rare): Chest pain, fainting, prolonged erection (priapism), or sudden loss of vision or hearing  seek medical help immediately.

Precautions:

• Do not use with nitrates (used for chest pain) or nitric oxide donors, as this can cause dangerous drops in blood pressure.

• Avoid alcohol and grapefruit juice.

• Consult your doctor if you have heart disease, liver/kidney problems, or low blood pressure.

• Not intended for women or men under 18 years.

• Stop use and seek emergency help if an erection lasts longer than 4 hours.
