Use:
This medication is used to treat and prevent conditions caused by excess stomach acid such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), stomach and duodenal ulcers, and gastritis.
It relieves heartburn, acid reflux, and indigestion, and promotes healing of the stomach and esophageal lining damaged by acid.

How it works:
The active ingredient, omeprazole, blocks the proton pumps in the stomach lining responsible for producing gastric acid.
By suppressing acid secretion, it reduces irritation, allows healing of ulcers, and prevents acid-related discomfort.

Dosage and administration:
The usual adult dose is one capsule (20 mg) once daily, preferably before breakfast or a meal.
Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water do not crush or chew.
Treatment duration varies depending on the condition, usually 2 to 4 weeks for mild reflux and up to 8 weeks for ulcers or more severe cases.
Always follow your doctor’s instructions and do not exceed the recommended dose.

Side effects:
Omeprex is generally well tolerated.
Common side effects include headache, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, or nausea.
Rare but serious effects include allergic reactions, persistent diarrhea, or signs of low magnesium such as muscle cramps or irregular heartbeat.
Seek medical help if severe symptoms occur.

Precautions:
Do not use if allergic to omeprazole or other proton pump inhibitors.
Consult your doctor before use if you have liver disease, osteoporosis, or low magnesium levels.
Long-term use may increase the risk of bone fractures and vitamin B12 deficiency.
Avoid taking Omeprex with certain medications such as clopidogrel unless advised by your doctor.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only under medical supervision.

Storage:
Store below 25 °C, in a dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight.
Keep in the original blister pack until use.
Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
