Pentasa 1 g Mesalazine Suppositories 14 Count

PENTASA suppositories contain mesalazine, which has an anti-inflammatory effect, and is used in the treatment of:

• • Active ulcerative proctitis , an inflammatory condition with ulceration in the rectum .

How To Use:

• • Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

• • Contact a doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

Adults:

• • Usual dose is one suppository once daily.

• • The suppository is inserted into the rectum.

Children:

• • There is little experience and only limited documentation with regard to effectiveness.

• • If you think that the effect of PENTASA suppositories is too strong or too weak, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist about this.

Instructions for use:

• • It is recommended that you go to the toilet before using the suppositories.

• • Place one of the supplied finger guards on the insertion finger.

• • If it is difficult to insert the suppository, it can be moistened with a little water just before insertion.

• • Throw away the used finger guard.

If you take too much Pentasa:

• • Contact a doctor, hospital or Poison Information.

• • If you have taken too much medicine or if a child has taken medicine by accident.

• • For other questions about the medicine, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

If you have forgotten to take Pentasa:

• • You should not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you stop treatment with Pentasa:

• • Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions about the use of this medicine.
