Medication name: Kapect Antidiarrheal Suspension 120 ml
Drug class: Antidiarrheal and intestinal adsorbent
Use:
This medication is used to relieve acute diarrhea and soothe irritation of the intestinal lining.
It helps reduce stool frequency and fluid loss, restoring comfort and preventing dehydration.
It is also used to calm upset stomach and intestinal discomfort caused by minor infections or dietary changes.
How it works:
Kapect contains kaolin and pectin as its main active ingredients.
Kaolin works as an adsorbent, binding toxins and bacteria in the intestines to help remove them from the body.
Pectin forms a protective coating on the intestinal walls, reducing irritation and helping to normalize stool consistency.
Together, they provide gentle, effective relief from mild diarrhea.
Dosage and administration:
Shake the bottle well before each use.
For adults, the usual dose is two to four tablespoons (30–60 ml) after each loose stool, or as directed by a doctor.
For children, the dose should be adjusted according to age and weight—typically one to two teaspoons (5–10 ml) after each loose stool.
Do not exceed the recommended dose, and ensure adequate fluid intake during treatment to prevent dehydration.
Side effects:
Kapect is generally safe and well tolerated.
Mild constipation or temporary stomach fullness may occur.
If diarrhea persists for more than two days, or if you develop fever, vomiting, or blood in the stool, stop taking the medication and consult a doctor.
Precautions:
Do not use if allergic to kaolin, pectin, or any of the ingredients in the product.
Consult a doctor before use in children under 3 years, or if you have severe diarrhea, dehydration, or high fever.
This medicine should not be used as a substitute for rehydration therapy in cases of fluid loss.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only under medical supervision.
Storage:
Store below 25 °C, away from direct sunlight and heat.
Keep tightly closed and out of reach of children.
Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.
