Lioresal 25 mg 50 Tablets

Medication name: Lioresal 25 mg Tablets contain the active ingredient Baclofen, which is a centrally acting muscle relaxant.

Each pack includes 50 tablets for oral use.

Drug class: Muscle relaxant / Antispastic agent

Use: Lioresal is prescribed to relieve muscle stiffness, spasms, and spasticity caused by conditions such as multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, or neurological disorders.

It helps improve mobility and reduce muscle pain and tightness.

How it works: Baclofen works by stimulating GABA-B receptors in the spinal cord, which inhibits excessive nerve signals that cause muscle contraction.

This results in relaxation of muscles, reduction of spasms, and improved motor function.

Dosage and administration: The dosage is individualized and gradually increased under medical supervision.

Tablets are usually taken two to three times daily, with or after food, and swallowed whole with water.

Do not stop treatment suddenly without a doctor’s advice, as this may cause withdrawal symptoms.

Side effects: Common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, fatigue, nausea, and headache.

Rarely, patients may experience low blood pressure, confusion, or mood changes.
