Use:
This medication is used to relieve abdominal pain, cramping, and discomfort caused by spasms of the stomach, intestines, or urinary tract.
It is commonly prescribed for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), stomach or intestinal cramps, and menstrual pain.

How it works:
The active ingredient, hyoscine butylbromide, works by blocking the action of acetylcholine on smooth muscles in the gastrointestinal and urinary tracts.
This prevents involuntary muscle contractions that cause spasms and pain, allowing the muscles to relax and easing discomfort.

Dosage and administration:
The usual adult dose is one to two tablets (10–20 mg) taken three to five times daily.
Swallow the tablets whole with water; do not crush or chew them.
For children aged 6–12 years, one tablet may be given up to three times daily as directed by a doctor.
Always follow your doctor’s dosage instructions and do not exceed the recommended dose.

Side effects:
Scopinal is generally well tolerated.
Mild side effects such as dry mouth, constipation, dizziness, or blurred vision may occur.
Serious allergic reactions are rare but can include rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face and throat.
Seek medical attention immediately if these symptoms appear.

Precautions:
Do not use if allergic to hyoscine butylbromide or any of the tablet’s ingredients.
Avoid use in patients with glaucoma, enlarged prostate, intestinal obstruction, or severe heart conditions unless prescribed by a doctor.
Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medications with anticholinergic effects.
Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience blurred vision or dizziness.
