Periokin Gel 30 ml

Medication name: Periokin Gel 30 mL contains Chlorhexidine digluconate (0.2%), a topical antiseptic oral gel used to control plaque and bacteria in the mouth.

Drug class: Antiseptic / Antimicrobial oral gel

Use: Periokin Gel is used for the prevention and treatment of gum inflammation (gingivitis), periodontal infections, and mouth ulcers.

It is also beneficial after dental procedures or oral surgery to help protect healing gums from infection and promote faster recovery.

How it works: Chlorhexidine works by disrupting the bacterial cell membrane, causing the contents to leak and killing bacteria.

It effectively reduces oral bacteria, plaque buildup, and gum bleeding, helping maintain oral hygiene and prevent reinfection.

Dosage and administration:

• Apply a small amount of Periokin Gel directly to the affected area using a clean finger or cotton swab.

• Use 2–3 times daily, preferably after brushing and rinsing.

• Do not rinse, eat, or drink for at least 30 minutes after application to allow the gel to act.

• Suitable for short-term use or as directed by a dentist.

Side effects: Common side effects include temporary staining of teeth or tongue, altered taste, or mild irritation of the gums. Rarely, allergic reactions may occur.

Precautions:

• For topical oral use only—do not swallow.

• Avoid contact with eyes or ears.

• Do not use for prolonged periods unless advised by a dentist.

• Not recommended for children under 12 years without medical supervision.

• If irritation or allergic reaction develops, discontinue use.
