Medication name: Benzaflex 5 mg Tablets contain the active ingredient Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride, a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant.

Each pack includes 30 tablets intended for oral use.

Drug class: Muscle relaxant

Use: Benzaflex is prescribed for the short-term relief of muscle spasms and pain caused by acute musculoskeletal conditions such as back pain, neck pain, or muscle strain.

It helps reduce stiffness, ease tension, and improve mobility when used along with rest and physical therapy.

How it works: Cyclobenzaprine acts on the central nervous system, particularly the brainstem, to reduce abnormal muscle tone and block nerve impulses that trigger involuntary muscle contraction.

It does not act directly on muscles but provides overall relaxation and pain relief.

Dosage and administration: The typical adult dose is 5 to 10 mg three times daily, as directed by a doctor. It may be taken with or without food.

Treatment duration is usually short-term (2–3 weeks). Tablets should be swallowed whole with water.

Side effects: Common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, fatigue, and constipation.

Less common effects may include blurred vision, nausea, or headache.
